The Istituto del Papiro is born in 1975 inSyracuse, temple of papyrus paper production since 1971, achieving the aim to discover secrets of production of papyrus paper, lost and never handed down in 1061 A.D. in Egypt because of the extinction of the plant.

Papyrus paper is the most ancient symbol of distinction, the heritage of few depositaries of culture, the only writing support for over 3.000 years.

Nowadays we produce an excellent papyrus paper in our laboratories, faithfully reproducing ancient papyra copied by the original ones.
